K-8 (CCD)

When: Mondays, 6:15-7:30 PM

Our K-8 program is both fun and fully academic. In addition to weekly classes, students have the opportunity to participate in field trips, the Christmas pageant, class Masses and Stations of the Cross.

Our parish is currently transitioning to a new curriculum. Grades K-4 and 7-8 use Ignatius Press's Faith and Life series. Grades 5-6 use the Sadlier “We Believe” curriculum. Both series are used with special emphasis on meeting the newly promulgated curriculum standards of the Archdiocese of Washington. These standards are spiral in nature, with each year building and expanding on the knowledge gained in the previous years so it is important for students to attend classes continuously as each year enriches their knowledge of the faith, in word and action.

Both First and Second grades prepare the children to receive the sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion. (Special arrangements can be made for children who join the program after first grade). Likewise, participation in both seventh and eighth grade classes are part of Confirmation requirements.

Parents' Coffee Club

When: Mondays, 6:15-7:15 PM

Join other parents for a friendly cup of coffee while children attend our Monday sessions. No class, just conversation. And coffee.

The Faith and Life Family Guide - both Vol. 1 (grades 1-4) and Vol. 2 (grades 5-8) can be purchased separately on the K-8 registration page. The cost is $15.00.
